ALL ABOUT US
Our purpose is to bring together musicians who enjoy playing music with audiences who enjoy listening to the music that only a concert band can offer. We rehearse at the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts on Wednesday nights from 7:30-9:30.
COMMUNITY SERVICE:
Recognized as the 2004 "Volunteer-of-the-Year" organization by the Village of Schaumburg
CONDUCTOR:
Sean Sroka
Our repertoire includes classical, contemporary, show tunes, and ethnic/folk music. We enjoy performing patriotic tributes, overtures, marches, polkas, big band swing, novelty pieces and seasonal favorites. We try to choose selections that will appeal to our diverse audience members, and we often feature guest artists.
The members of the Spring Valley Concert Band volunteer a combined total of over 5,000 hours a year preparing for performances, and we were recognized as the 2004 "Volunteer-of-the-Year" organization by the Village of Schaumburg for our efforts to share our music with the "forgotten" residents of Veterans hospitals and senior nursing/rehab centers.
